Pregnancy tests can be very useful if you want to determine whether you’re pregnant or not, but in some cases, it may be too early for a pregnancy test to provide you with accurate results. While visiting your doctor may help, there are some early signs of pregnancy that can let you know that you’re pregnant before a test can.

Feeling Sluggish?

Feeling sluggish can be the result of a strenuous schedule at work or a tough workout at the gym, but if you don’t have any real reason to feel extremely tired and sluggish, it may be one of the early signs of pregnancy. In fact, feeling extremely tired is one of the most common early signs of pregnancy, and almost all women begin to feel that way before a test can accurately show whether they’re pregnant or not. If you’re starting to feel sluggish, avoid overly-caffeinated energy drinks and triple-shot lattes – at least until you know whether you really are pregnant or not.

Nausea

Everybody knows that pregnant women can feel nauseated pretty regularly. However, for many women, nausea for no reason – meaning you aren’t sick because of something you ate and you don’t have the flu – is one of the most commonly seen early signs of pregnancy. What most people don’t know is that nausea actually occurs in pregnant women because of a rise in certain hormone levels that can trigger the body to feel suddenly sick, especially when those hormone levels peak, often in the morning. If you feel nauseated regularly, try to keep something in your stomach all the time. A light snack before bed can help to curb morning sickness, though it may not prevent it completely.

Increased Urination

While going to the bathroom frequently can just be a sign that you’re drinking a lot of water, it can also mean that you’re pregnant in some cases. During the initial stages of pregnancy, the uterus begins to swell and expand which pushes on the bladder and increases how often most women need to urinate. Pregnancy can also make the need to urinate feel more urgent because of the pressure on your bladder. When you realized that yourself waking up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom, especially if this is something you hardly ever do, this may be a sign of early pregnancy. To avoid waking up in the middle of the night, try to go to the bathroom right before you get into bed.
