Google officially launched the new version of it’s Nexus series as Nexus 5 smartphone.
The phone is made by LG and its peculiarity small, thin and light compared to the Nexus – 4 but its touchscreen is large.
Nexus-5 have touch screen of 4.96 inches. This Phone is launched to show the capabilities of the new version of Android operating system named KitKat. Google claims that the new operating system can work well on all the low profile phone.
Partnership with LG
According to Gartner data, the LG’s partnership with Google has benefited them greatly but LG is still behind compared to Samsung and Apple.
During the quarter ended June 2013 LG’s share was 3.8 percent and was ranking a third in market. On the other hand, Apple’s share was 18.8 percent and 29.7 percent share was with Samsung of market.
Better Features
Before the announcement of Nexus – 5 few features were leaked on Google’s blog.
LG’s G-2 hardware has been used in this phone with this hardware user can shoot and play 1080p HD resolution videos through this phone. The virtue of the camera system includes rapid bursts which can click photographs in contentious series.
This handset sales has been started from 1st November in USA, UK, Canada, Australia, France, Germany, Spain, Italy, Japan and Korea.
“Nexus devices serve an important function for Google,” said Ben Wood, head of research at analyst firm CCS Insight.
“The company collaborates closely with the chosen phone maker as it rolls out a new version of the Android operating system and this results in a ‘vanilla’ version of the software that acts as a reference platform for developers and tech enthusiasts.
Price of Nexus 5 in India
Though, Google said that the initial version of 16 GB will cost $ 349 in the U.S., while the 32 GB version will cost $ 399.
But market expert are expecting the bit high price for Nexus – 5 in India. 16 GB might cost 27000 Rs – 29000 Rs and 32 GB version would may launch at 35000-37000 Rs.
Google said that new Kitkat Android is designed to use less memory (RAM) and it can be run on low range technical hardware e.g this version supports all 512 ram based mobiles phone we can use this version expensive smartphones such as the operating system can be used.
